The challenge

International Book of Records needed a platform that could handle a global audience submitting achievement claims across dozens of categories, languages, and time zones. The existing process relied on manual document review over email, which meant slow turnaround times, inconsistent record-keeping, and a submission experience that undersold the credibility of the recognition itself.

The site also needed to hold up under sudden traffic spikes whenever a record holder was announced publicly, without the cost or complexity of a heavyweight infrastructure.

The approach

We rebuilt the submission workflow as a guided, multi-step process with server-side validation at every stage, so an incomplete or malformed claim never reaches a reviewer. A dedicated review dashboard let the internal team track a claim from submission through verification to publication, with status visible to the applicant throughout.

On the front end, we prioritised trust signals: verified badges, clear category taxonomies, and a credibility-first visual design, so the platform reads as an institution, not a submission form.

  • Guided, multi-step submission flow with inline validation
  • Internal review dashboard with claim status tracking
  • Caching and CDN strategy built for traffic spikes on announcement days
  • Credibility-first design system with verified-record badging

The results

Since launch, the platform has processed a steadily growing volume of submissions with a fraction of the manual review time the old workflow required. The public-facing record profiles have also become an unexpected traffic driver, with record holders sharing their verified pages directly, turning each new record into organic reach for the platform.

Let's build something that scales.
